Virginia pesticide business licensing and applicator certification are handled through the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Check the current official record before relying on a stored directory snapshot.
Official registry
Use the official VDACS licensed pesticide businesses report to research a business. The VDACS pesticide business license page explains licensing requirements, and the applicator certification page explains the different applicator roles.
The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), through its Office of Pesticide Services, is the authoritative contact for current records and category questions.
License types and what they mean
A Virginia pesticide business license concerns the business operating for compensation. Commercial applicator certification concerns the individual performing or supervising regulated work; registered technicians are another distinct role. A local business license by itself is not the same credential.
Category codes describe regulated scopes in the registry. In our launch data, raw 7-A is normalized as general pest and raw 7-B as termite/WDO. That mapping does not prove every individual service, method, or current availability.
How to check a company
- Ask for the business name, license number, registered location, and responsible applicator.
- Compare those details with the current official VDACS record.
- Review license categories and expiration information with VDACS if anything is unclear.
- Request current insurance documentation and make sure the contract names the same operation you checked.
How our directory uses this source
The launch export contains 700 publishable business records with explicit Virginia registry locations. Each row preserves the business ID, license number, raw category, source row, and registry observation date. Records are not ranked or treated as endorsements.
Raw ACTIVE text is shown only as a stored source value. Every launch record has current_active_status_asserted: false, and bed-bug service remains unknown without separate evidence.
Update cadence and limitations
The stored registry observation date is 2026-07-24; the export’s expiration comparison uses an as-of date of 2026-10-17. The source builder marks these records as requiring refresh. That is why this site does not claim they are currently active.
Refresh timing depends on source availability and review. A page build alone does not change a record’s source date. Report a mismatch through the correction contact and include official evidence, then confirm directly with VDACS.
